Desolation Wilderness

Permits for the Desolation Wilderness are available from:

Carson Pass Information Station

Carson Pass Station is now open for the summer season. For information in the summer on hiking, wildflowers and camping, please stop by or call (209)258-8606.

Crystal Basin Recreation Area

Information station is open for the season.

Hours
This information station will remain open until October 11th. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. They can also be reached at 530-293-3510 for information regarding trails, campgrounds and any other questions visitors have about the Crystal Basin.

This Station is located 12 miles north of Highway 50 on Ice House Road

 

Wrights Lake Information Station

Wrights Lake Information Station is not open yet.
