Horse Riding

Out for a day or for an extended ride, the Forest has many equestrian trails and several equestrian campgrounds.  When visiting wilderness or special management areas, special regulations apply.  

Popular riding areas include The Fleming Meadows Trail system in the Placerville Ranger District and the Horse Canyon Area in the Amador Ranger District.

Several stables in the Carson Pass area offer trail rides and extended backcountry trips.
